P-Q-P memo to the author for the book Jurassic Park

P-Q-P Memo to the Author

Re: Jurassic Park

Hello Mr.Crichton! My name is Kanchini and I wanted to talk about your book JURASSIC PARK. I really liked it, so I decided to write to you about this wonderful book. In this letter, I have some suggestions, comments, and questions I want to ask you about.

First of all, I wanted to tell you how much I loved this book! It was so good! I loved how you thought of the way the scientists cloned the dinosaurs. I thought it was genius that they got the dinosaur DNA from mosquitoes that were trapped in amber. I would never think of anything like that! I liked the character Alan Grant. He seemed so smart and it was a good thing that he knew a lot about dinosaurs. Your book had a lot of action and I wanted to find out who dies and who was smart enough to run away from the dinosaurs. One part I liked I the book was when Denis Nedry shut down the security system and then all the dinosaurs escaped.

I also have some questions for you about the book. If these scientists were smart, why did they forget about dichogamy? I mean, people would look over these things when cloning DINOSAURS. It kind of made me upset that someone would forget that! Another question for you is why did you kill off the character John Hammond? He was the founder of InGen. I think he was an important character in the story and I don’t understand why he died. At least he went down with his Jurassic Park!

I also have some suggestions for you. One thing that I suggest is that I don’t think you should have killed almost everyone in the story. Only a few people lived. I also think that Velociraptors should have not come near the end of the book. I also think you should have let John Hammond survive. He was a main part of the book and I would have like to see what would happen when he got back to the mainland.

I really enjoyed your book. It had a lot of good action parts and it was written with lots of detail! I think you are a great author and I am looking forward to reading more of your books! Thanks for reading!

Sincerely,
Kanchini

Doughnut Stories!

DOUGHNUT STORY WITH FRIENDS

As I walked to school, I replayed what happened yesterday night in my head. I started to think, when do I tell my parents? I walk up the school steps and meet my friends who were there with me that night. We went through the doors and to our lockers. In first period, while we were waiting for the teacher, a girl in my class asked me,
“How was your weekend?”
“Fine.” I replied.
“What...did you do on Sunday, you know, yesterday?” She questioned.
UGH! She HAD to know! Oh well, I guess I could tell her.
“Well, my parents gave me the car, yeah I know pretty sweet, and so I went out with my friends and we came across an iced parking lot and well... we started to do doughnuts.”
She gasped as a group started to appear at my desk to listen.
“It seemed fun at first, then the car slid too far and well, I couldn’t see the pole and I... slid and hit the rear end of the car.” I said it all in one breath. There was silence before everyone started talking at once.
“You are in sooo much trouble!”
“What are you gonna do?”
“OMG!”
But all the chatter was interrupted by the teacher as he came in.

DOUGHNUT STORY WITH PARENTS

As I came through the door to our house, I took a deep breath. I am going to tell them today. I came into the kitchen to find my mom cooking and my dad reading the newspaper.
“I need to talk to you guys.” I said
“Sure thing!” My mom said happily.
We went to the living room and I sat across from my mom and dad. I took a deep breath and...
“I crashed the car.”
“...”
“Wh-What?” My mom stammered.
I started to tell them about how we came to an iced parking lot and about crashing into the pole and... the doughnuts.
“Please don’t be mad.” I pleaded. But it didn’t work.
“I am very disappointed in you. You should have been more responsible! You will have to pay for the damage, and you will be grounded. Go to your room while we discuss this.”
I walked out of the room and took slow breaths. At least that was over!

Technology from the Past - The invention of the wheel

It was believed that the wheel was used around 3250 B.C.E. they might have been used for pottery first.Later on, people decided to put wheels into other uses since it was very difficult to transport goods from one place to another. They invented the multiple uses of wheels. Wheels were attached to chariots, ploughs, and carts and donkeys and oxen were used to pull the vehicles. This way of transportation helped a lot of farmers to carry their food to the city. It also helped people like archers in war chariots.

Enduring Contribution

We still use wheels today! We still use them for pottery and we still use transportation with the help of wheels. Almost all the transportation vehicles starting from horse driven carriages to cars, buses, tractors, and even airplanes use wheels. This shows that people developed the simple, slow wheeled vehicles into very sophisticated, fast moving vehicles.

All About Me

Hi! My name is Kanchini
and this is my survival guide to me! This is where you can find out all the
facts you need to know about me. I want to start out by saying that I was born
in Texas because I think that that is a very fascinating fact you should know
about me.

STEP 1 – PERSONALITY:
First of all, I think you should know about my
personality. I am organized, neat, nice, and funny. I don’t think that I am very rude or mean. I am funny and I like to make jokes, but I don’t think of myself as a really funny person. It looks nice when everything is clean, so I like to have my binders all neat and tidy. Now that
you know my personality, let’s move on to the next step.

STEP 2 – GOALS:
I think that everyone should have goals. Academic or personal, I have a couple of goals I’d like to achieve. My personal goals are that I will try to help my mom and dad around the house. Whether it is helping my mom with cooking or helping my dad in the garden, I'll help them! Another goal is that I want to try and clean my room without being asked. I know I said that am neat and tidy, but I am not very tidy with my room… An academic goal would be to try and get a good mark in math. I will make sure I understand what we are learning in math and ask questions when I don’t get something. I also love sports and activities. HEY! Why not we start there next?!?!

STEP 3 – SPORTS AND ACTIVITIES:
One thing I love to do is dance! The type of dancing I dance is called Kandyan dancing. I absolutely love it! There are so many dance steps. Our dancing teacher makes us do all the dancing steps until we are all tired and sweaty. Another thing I do is piano. Piano is fun to learn, but sometimes I forget to practice. I also play trumpet. There are 3 valves to play, but there are some really high notes and you have to tighten your lips, so it’s really hard. I recently started to like basketball and volleyball. I love to play them! Now that you know what
instruments and sports I play, let’s move on.

STEP 4 – LIKES AND DISLIKES:
I like a lot of things, but here are just some I think you know. I like, no I LOVE the colour blue, I enjoy summer too! Hot summer days just sitting on my deck reading a book... I just adore social studies. It’s one of my favorite subjects. I also like to listen to music. My dislikes are that I dislike the Twilight movies. I detest pink and winter is just too cold for me.

There, so that is you pretty much all you need to know about the Magnificent Kanchini!I guarantee this is a useful survival guide. This could be useful in many different ways. So, treasure it well and bring it out when you need to! Thanks for reading!
CIAO!
